The John Coltrane concert compilation So Many Things: The European Tour showcases the legendary jazz saxophonist performing live with his quintet. This was a three-week tour that took Coltrane from France to Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, and found him playing over 30 live dates. While Coltrane did make several live recordings during this period, these specific recordings were culled.

As the title track for the LP, “My Favourite Things” has easily become one of the most accessible ambassadors of Bop jazz to the otherwise straight musical world. It likewise retains an undeniable integrity as a bedrock of the entire sub genre.

Jun 25,  · The rest of the setlist is more standard: Every Time We Say Goodbye, Impressions, Naima and My Favorite Things, including 2 false starts and Coltrane apologizing to the audience. The band is in good shape - the European Tours box maybe has a couple more magical moments of Dolphy & Coltrane together, but if you're an enthusiast of Coltrane in /5(27).
